Ottagono – Solid Ash Column Bookcase

Description

Some pieces of furniture hold your belongings; others transform the way they are seen. Ottagono brings books, art volumes and personal keepsakes into a vertical composition with a sculptural character: a small private library that becomes part of the room’s architecture. Beside a reading armchair, in a study or a refined living room, it offers a personal way to display the things you love, giving each object its own space.

Designed by Norberto Delfinetti, Ottagono pairs a solid ash structure with eight shelves arranged along the column. The warmth of the wood and the alternating shelves create a balance of solid forms and open spaces, bringing character to your interior through a slender silhouette.

One column, three shelf combinations

Each unit purchased comprises one solid ash column and eight shelves. Choose from three configurations using the dropdown menu:

• 8 titanium-coloured metal shelves;
• 8 glass shelves;
• 5 titanium-coloured metal shelves and 3 glass shelves.

The metal shelves create a more pronounced rhythm, framing the books with their profiles. In the clear glass version, the shelves become visually discreet, almost disappearing beneath the volumes: the books appear to float around the central upright, creating a sequence that lightens the composition and emphasises its vertical form. Transparent bronze and smoked glass offer warmer or darker interpretations of this effect.

The mixed version alternates the presence of metal with the subtlety of glass, creating a play of contrasts along the column.

The price is for one column in the selected configuration. To create a larger arrangement, you can purchase several units, including different shelf combinations. Wall or ceiling fixing

Ottagono rests on the floor and has an upper fixing to either the wall or the ceiling. For the version with an upper wall fixing, the overall height is adjustable from 245 to 250 cm.

Before ordering, please tell us your preferred fixing method and the height of your room. We will help you check that the configuration is suitable for your space, including installations with a ceiling fixing.

Choose the finishes for your interior

The solid ash structure is available in the stained finishes noce (NC), tabacco (TB), wengè (WG), moka (MK) and nero (TN), as well as open-pore matt lacquered finishes: bianco (L21), madreperla (L29), cappuccino (L23), grigio medio (L28), grigio fumo (L25), nero (L22) and rosso (L24).

The stained finishes correspond to walnut, tobacco, wenge, mocha and black tones respectively. The lacquered finishes correspond to white, mother-of-pearl, cappuccino, medium grey, smoke grey, black and red. The original names and codes help you identify each option in the finish chart.

The metal shelves are titanium-coloured. For the glass shelves, you can choose between clear, transparent bronze and smoked glass.

A finish close to your existing woods and colours creates continuity; a contrasting shade highlights the upright and gives the bookcase a more defined presence. Pairing it with clear, bronze or smoked glass allows you to refine the character of the composition further.
