MONOLITH is an executive desk with a Wengé-finish desktop and a Ruggine metal base, bringing an assured presence and a welcoming atmosphere to the office. The depth of the wood-effect tones meets the warmth of the metal, while sculptural lines reinterpret the elegance of the traditional executive setting through contemporary design.

Designed by Orlandini Design and made in Italy, this version belongs in spaces where relationships are built: a professional practice, a director’s office or a setting for welcoming clients and exchanging ideas with colleagues. The proposed configuration includes a continuous Wengé desktop, two Ruggine metal legs, a coordinating standard modesty panel and a desktop access module with power sockets and USB-C charging ports.

Wengé and Ruggine: warmth and character

The dark desktop creates a generous, uninterrupted surface for documents, equipment and personal objects. Beneath it, the V-shaped legs introduce a distinctive sense of movement: the angled metal surfaces give rhythm to the composition and define its recognisable silhouette.

The Ruggine finish adds a warm rust tone that complements Wengé and works beautifully with leather, neutral fabrics, stone and softly coloured walls. MONOLITH offers a foundation for a refined professional interior, where prestige is expressed through considered choices and attention to detail.

The trapezoidal modesty panel completes the base. Its metal surface faces visitors, reinforcing the colour continuity of the composition while partially screening the space beneath the desktop: an aesthetic and practical detail, particularly useful when the desk stands in the centre of the room.

Italian design and considered construction

The desktop is made from two bonded 18 mm MDF panels, giving a total thickness of 36 mm. The visible surfaces are covered in Wengé-finish 3D-foil, while the underside has a melamine backing. Wengé therefore identifies the desktop’s wood-effect finish.

Shaped edges give the desktop a visually lighter profile and complement the lines of the base. The legs, made from 4 mm sheet metal, and the under-desk frame are finished in Ruggine epoxy powder coating.

The standard modesty panel repeats the same combination: Wengé 3D-foil-covered MDF on the user’s side and Ruggine metal facing visitors. The composition maintains a carefully finished appearance from both perspectives, enhancing the workstation and the wider office setting.

Integrated connections, space to work and welcome visitors

The desktop access module with two UK sockets and two USB-C charging ports provides power and charging directly at the work surface, beneath a soft-closing lid coordinated with the Ruggine frame.

The included under-desk cable tray and vertical cable routing within the legs help gather connections together and keep the workstation organised. Technical equipment is integrated discreetly, allowing the desktop to remain the focus of the composition.

The two-leg configuration retains a visually open arrangement and can be complemented by freestanding storage selected to suit the room and filing requirements. It is an appealing option for those who want to keep the work surface separate from storage while retaining flexibility in the placement of other furniture.

The desk is available with a 210 × 105 cm or 240 × 105 cm desktop, with an overall height of 76 cm.

The 210 cm version provides a generous workstation in a more intimate setting; the 240 cm version suits larger offices and offers additional surface space for equipment and documents. In both cases, the choice should take account of the user’s chair, visitor seating and circulation around the desk.

Finishes, inserts and alternatives on request

The collection’s 3D-foil desktops are available in Olmo Grey, Noce Bali, Ardesia, Nero, Wengé and Tortora. Metal frames are offered in Nero, Ruggine and Terracotta, according to the combinations available for each item. Calacatta Bianco and Nero Desirè marble-effect ceramic desktops are also available, with their own dimensions and specifications.

Versions with inserts feature a section of the desktop finished in 3D-foil or faux leather, in a matching or contrasting finish. A Privacy modesty panel, freestanding side units or compositions with supporting side storage measuring 123.6, 153.6 or 183.6 cm can also be considered. The latter use a specific desk version designed to be supported by the storage unit.

Alternative configurations have different prices and require an individual quotation. The general drawings illustrate the scope of the collection; dimensions, finishes and accessories are checked for the requested composition. For offices outside the UK, a desktop access module with Schuko UNEL sockets and USB-C charging ports can be requested.
